High School Latin Teacher | Part-Time

Chesterton Academy of Tyler, a classical high school in the Catholic tradition, seeks a talented and dynamic part-time Latin teacher to join our team starting in the 2026-2027 academic year.

Position Details

Chesterton Academy of Tyler, a classical high school in the Catholic tradition, seeks a talented and dynamic part-time teacher to join our team starting in the 2026-2027 academic year.

The successful candidate will be able to teach Latin at both the freshman and sophomore level, including foundational grammar, classical texts, and the cultural and historical context of the Latin-speaking world. The teacher will guide students through the Western classical tradition, develop their proficiency in reading and translating Latin, and cultivate an appreciation for the language as a gateway to understanding Western civilization and Catholic intellectual heritage. A bachelor's or master's degree in Classics, Latin, or Classical Studies is preferred but not required. Teaching experience is strongly preferred, as well as experience in and passion for Catholic classical education.

The teacher selected for this role would be responsible for eight (8) 45-minute class periods per week between both the freshman and sophomore grade levels.

The candidate must be a practicing Catholic and willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, and possess a track record of contributing to the vision and mission of an apostolic and educational enterprise.

In addition to their teaching responsibilities, faculty at Chesterton Academy participate in the House system, which is designed to promote character and virtue and to help students grow in holiness. Faculty members are expected to participate in spiritual retreats and school activities, as well as other ancillary duties as required.

Position Details

Chesterton Academy of Tyler, a classical high school in the Catholic tradition, seeks a talented and dynamic part-time teacher to join our team starting in the 2026-2027 academic year.

The successful candidate will be able to teach Choir at the high school level, developing students' vocal technique, music theory, sight-reading skills, and appreciation for sacred and classical choral repertoire. The teacher will lead rehearsals, prepare students for performances and liturgies, and foster a culture of musical excellence rooted in the Western tradition. A bachelor's or master's degree in Music, Music Education, Vocal Performance, or a related field is preferred but not required. Teaching experience and/or choral conducting experience is strongly preferred, as well as experience in and passion for Catholic classical education.

The teacher selected for this role would be responsible for three (3) 45-minute class periods per week between both the freshman and sophomore grade levels, as well as additional time for rehearsals and performances, to be determined during the school year.

Chesterton Academy of Tyler, a classical high school in the Catholic tradition, seeks a talented and dynamic full-time teacher to join our team starting in the 2026-2027 academic year.

The successful candidate will be able to teach multiple levels of the three following subjects: Mathematics, Science, and Literature. The teacher will guide students through the logical beauty of mathematics, the wonder of God's created order through scientific inquiry, and the riches of the Western literary tradition.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to integrate faith and reason across disciplines and inspire students to pursue truth, goodness, and beauty in their studies. A bachelor's or master's degree in Mathematics, Science, Literature, or a related field is preferred but not required. Teaching experience is strongly preferred, as well as experience in and passion for Catholic classical education.
