Chesterton Academy of Tyler is a classical high school opening in fall of 2026 in Tyler, Texas. We are seeking a headmaster for the school, who is passionate about Catholic classical education. The successful candidate should be a prayerful servant leader that is a capable administrator and nurturing educator with an ability to form the character of young people.
As the educational leader of the school, the headmaster will inspire joyful, sacrificial service in students, parents, staff, and our broader community through his own Christian example and spirituality. The headmaster is responsible for working closely with the Founding Board to implement the Founders' vision while ensuring school policies that foster a rigorous yet loving learning environment are followed. The headmaster will be able to offer ideas and best practices in a spirit of collaboration but also be able to accept and follow directives from the Founding Board.
The Headmaster is the public "face" of Chesterton Academy of Tyler.

New Classical High School to Open in Tyler, Texas
TYLER, TX - April 16, 2025 - Chesterton Academy, a classical high school in the Catholic tradition, announced today plans to open its doors to students in Tyler, Texas in Fall 2026. The academy will provide a cohesive, content-rich education that integrates the humanities, sciences, and arts within the framework of classical learning and Catholic teaching.
The new Tyler campus joins a growing network of Chesterton Academies across the country dedicated to forming students through a rigorous classical curriculum. Students will study the great works of Western civilization, from Homer and Aristotle to Shakespeare and G.K. Chesterton, while developing critical thinking skills and moral virtues.
"The Chesterton Academy mission is to raise up a generation of joyful leaders and saints, educated in the classical tradition and the truths of the Catholic faith," said Devin Rose, a representative of Chesterton Academy of Tyler. "Our integrated approach to education prepares students not just for college but for life, helping them discern and follow God's calling."
The academy's Three Pillars model emphasizes intellectual development, character growth and leadership, and spiritual formation. Students will benefit from a curriculum where faith and reason meet in every class, with equal emphasis given to the arts—including drawing, painting, choir, theater, speech, and debate.
"What distinguishes a Chesterton education is how we connect disciplines that are often taught separately," Rose explained. "History, literature, philosophy, and theology are braided together, while sciences and humanities are intimately connected. This creates a meaningful educational experience where students develop into articulate, clear-thinking, well-rounded, and joyful individuals."
Chesterton Academy students have historically performed well on standardized tests and college admissions, while developing the foundation to discern their vocations and become leaders in their communities.
The academy is currently accepting inquiries from prospective families interested in enrollment for Fall 2026.
